Switching to BLEP?
Take it slow — sudden changes can upset your cat’s tummy, especially if they’ve been eating kibble. A gentle transition ensures a happy belly and a healthy shift to real food.
Gradually mix BLEP with your cat’s current food over 9 days. Slowly increase BLEP while reducing the old food in each phase.
💩 Proof is in the Poop!
Keep an eye on your kitty’s poop during the transition:
- If it’s loose, pause at the current stage for 2–3 days.
- Once it firms up, continue the plan.
Healthy poop = a happy gut. And that’s when you know BLEP’s doing its job.

Research suggests that fresh, lightly-cooked diets made with high‑quality, human‑grade ingredients may support better long-term health in cats, potentially adding up to 2.5–3 years of lifespan compared to standard commercial diets.

Frequently Asked Questions
The amount of food you should feed your cat depends on a number of factors — weight, age, activity level, neutering status, and others. We have created the BLEP Quiz so you can calculate this in under a minute!
Cats can be quite picky about new food. When introducing them to it, add the new food slowly over a period of about 9-11 days. Initially, add a little bit to their regular meal and keep increasing the amount over the next few days, eventually switching to the new food completely. This will also help in settling their stomachs.
Yes, of course. You can easily mix BLEP food with your home-cooked cat food to give it a boost of protein and flavour. BLEP has zero sugar or preservatives, so it’s a healthy addition to home food. You can also add BLEP’s broths to home-cooked food for some extra hydration and collagen.
You can easily make a nutritious and affordable meal for your cat by mixing BLEP food with some rice, veggies, or eggs. This way, your BLEP food will last longer and your cat will also get the necessary nutrients.
Yes, you can easily carry BLEP packets while travelling. BLEP’s sealed packets do not need refrigeration and have a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacturing. However, once you open a pack, you should serve it within 48 hours.
Cats have a very sensitive digestive system. Therefore, any sudden changes in diet can cause discomfort, indigestion, diarrhoea or constipation. This is why we recommend a 9-day diet adoption plan when first introducing BLEP natural cat food to cats.
For the first 3-4 days, mix 1-2 spoons of BLEP cat food with the current diet. Then, start gradually increasing the amount of BLEP food and decreasing the amount of the current diet over the next 5-6 days. In 9-10 days, your cat should be able to fully adapt to BLEP natural cat food.
In the middle of the transition, if your cat gets diarrhoea, constipation, or indigestion, pause till the issue is resolved. Then, gradually reintroduce BLEP natural cat food.
BLEP natural cat food contains zero preservatives or chemicals. Therefore, storage rules must be followed strictly to ensure maximum freshness and safety. All BLEP products have a 12-month shelf life when the package is sealed. This is because our products are sealed into retort pouches and sterilised. They do not need refrigeration. You can easily store them in your pantry or cupboard, away from direct sunlight.
However, once a natural food or bone broth packet is opened, any leftovers must be stored in the fridge and served within 48 hours for maximum benefits and safety. Open packets of BLEP chicken jerky treats may be stored in the fridge or inside an airtight container for up to a month.
Yes, BLEP natural cat food may be mixed with kibble and served to cats. However, we strongly recommend pet parents not to feed kibble, as it is ultra-processed, made of low-quality ingredients, and contains starch.
Instead, if you want to mix something with BLEP natural cat food, mix homemade boiled rice, oats, or quinoa. You can also mix boiled eggs and veggies with BLEP to make a hearty meal.
When transitioning to BLEP natural cat food for the first time, cats may sometimes get diarrhoea, constipation, or indigestion because their stomachs are still adjusting to the change. This is especially relevant for those cats who may have eaten dry food all their life.
In case there are any tummy issues, pause BLEP food for a few days until the issue clears up. Then gradually restart BLEP natural cat food again. If the issues persist, check with a vet. Your cat may be sensitive/allergic to certain ingredients.
BLEP is just like home-cooked food. Therefore, you can feed BLEP at any age or life stage to cats of any size or breed. However, you can adjust the amount and add a few things for different life stages. Since cats usually do not drink water on their own, moisture in their food is very important to keep them hydrated. So, adding some BLEP bone broth to their food is also advised for all ages. The bone broth is especially good for cats with long coats like Persian, Himalayan, etc.
Kitten: For cats, we recommend giving BLEP food once they are 6 weeks of age. Start with little amounts of BLEP food mixed with broth or boiled and mashed egg whites. Kittens need a lot of calories and protein for growth and daily functioning. Therefore, add some rice, oats or quinoa to your cat’s BLEP natural cat food for added calories. Feed frequent, small meals so that their tummy doesn’t get overwhelmed.
Adult cat: Adult cats do not need as many calories, so add only a small amount of rice, oats or quinoa to their meal. Keep BLEP natural cat food as the majority portion of the meal. You can add some boiled eggs or homemade veggies to BLEP.
Senior cat: Do not experiment too much with the diet of senior cats, as they may have sensitive systems. If they have been on a particular diet for a long time, it is best to adjust BLEP food alongside that, instead of changing the diet completely. They need a moderate amount of calories, so add only a little carb in the form of rice, oats or quinoa. You can also add some mashed eggs or veggies so it's easier to eat. BLEP bone broth will also help with their bones and joints.
Pregnant/Lactating cat: Pregnant and lactating cats need extra calories for proper development and functioning. Therefore, add a good amount of rice, oats, or quinoa to a large helping of BLEP natural cat food to give them the calories and protein that they need. You can also add some eggs to their food for extra energy and benefits.
When in doubt, you can always check the BLEP Diet Calculator for guidance.
